Three Russian cities to host Indian film weeks

Moscow, Sep 15 (PTI) Three Russian cities including
Moscow are hosting Indian film weeks within the Year of India
fest in the country.
Russian viewers of the elder generation, nostalgic of the
days of Raj Kapoor would be able to meet with the Kapoor
siblings Randhir and Rajiv Kapoor and watch his all-time hits
"Ram Teri Ganga Maili" and "Sangam".
During the film weeks in the Volga towns of Nizhny
Novgorod and Cheboksary till September 25 the younger
generation of Russians would also enjoy the all-time Bollywood
hit in ex-USSR like Subhash Babbar's 'Disco Dancer' starring
Mithun Chakraborty, as well as watch latest movies including
director Madhur Bhandarkar's "Page 3", "Fashion" and "Traffic
Signal", Neeraj Pandey's "A Wednesday".
Bhandarkar, actress Mugdha Godse and Producer Ganesh
Desai will also interact with the Russian Bollywood fans
during the Indian film fest.
Even after the Soviet collapse, Indian movies are very
popular in Russia, which has a 24-hour 'India TV' channel as
part of premium package offered by a number of DTH and cable
operators.
However, weaker sections of the society, specially the
pensioners would be able to watch Indian movies during the
films weeks free of charge on "first come, first serve" basis.
