Three Russian cities to host Indian film weeks

Moscow, Sep 15 (PTI) Three Russian cities including
Moscow are hosting Indian film weeks within the Year of India
fest in the country.
Russian viewers of the elder generation, nostalgic of the
days of Raj Kapoor would be able to meet with the Kapoor
siblings Randhir and Rajiv Kapoor and watch his all-time hits
"Ram Teri Ganga Maili" and "Sangam".
During the film weeks in the Volga towns of Nizhny
Novgorod and Cheboksary till September 25 the younger
generation of Russians would also enjoy the all-time Bollywood
hit in ex-USSR like Subhash Babbar's 'Disco Dancer' starring
Mithun Chakraborty, as well as watch latest movies including
director Madhur Bhandarkar's "Page 3", "Fashion" and "Traffic
Signal", Neeraj Pandey's "A Wednesday".
Bhandarkar, actress Mugdha Godse and Producer Ganesh
Desai will also interact with the Russian Bollywood fans
during the Indian film fest.
Even after the Soviet collapse, Indian movies are very
popular in Russia, which has a 24-hour 'India TV' channel as
part of premium package offered by a number of DTH and cable
operators.
However, weaker sections of the society, specially the
pensioners would be able to watch Indian movies during the
films weeks free of charge on "first come, first serve" basis.

दोबारा रुस के राष्‍ट्रपति के रुप में देश की बागडोर संभाल सकते पुतिन

रूस के सबसे लोकप्रिय प्रधानमंत्री व्‍लादीमीर पुतिन ने आखिरकार संकेत दे ही दिए हैं कि वह दोबारा रुस के राष्‍ट्रपति के रुप में देश की बागडोर संभाल सकते हैं। इस बाबत खबरनवीसों के सवालों का जवाब देते हुए पुतिन ने क‍हा कि जिस तरह आपसी समझ के साथ उन्‍होंने 2008 के चूनावों में सत्‍ता की बागडोर मेदवेदेव को सौंप दी थी। उसी तरह आगे भी समायोजन हो जाएगा।
उन्‍होंने कहा कि हमारी राजनीतिक विचारधारा और रक्‍त एक हैं। उम्‍मीद है कि हम एक समझौते पर पहुंच जाएंगे। पुतिन लगातार दो बार देश के राष्‍ट्रपति रह चुके हैं। रुस के संविधान में राष्‍ट्रपति दो से ज्‍यादा बार इस पद पर नहीं रह सकता। इसी कारण पुतिन गत वर्ष के चुनावों में मेदवेदेव के समथर्न में मैदान से हट गए थे। पुतिन ने कहा कि हम लोग समय के अनुसार वस्‍तुस्थिति का विषलेषण करेंगे और उसी के हिसाब से निणर्य लिए जांएगे। एक अन्‍य सवाल के जवाब में पुतिन ने कहा कि उनके और मेदवेदेव के बीच को सत्‍ता संघर्ष नहीं है। क्‍या हम लोग गत चुनावों में आपस में लडे थे? इसी तरह हम 2012 के चुनावों में भी आपस में नहीं लडेंगे। गौरतलब है कि 2012 में मेदवेदेव का कार्यकाल समाप्‍त हो रहा है। रूस के नए संवैधानिक नियमों के अनुसार 2012 के बाद 6-6 वर्षों के दो कायकाल के लिए नया राष्‍ट्रपति पद संभाल सकता है। पहले यह चार कार्यकाल के लिए तय था मगर नियमों में बदलाव कर य‍ह दो कायकालों में तबदील किया गया। यदि पुतिन दोबारा 2012 में क्रेमलिन की गददी संभालते हैं तो वे 2024 तक इस पद बनें रह सकते हैं। जानकारों के अनुसार रुस की वा‍स्‍तविक शक्तियां अभी भी पुतिन के ही हाथों में हैं और मेदवेदेव केवल उनका मोह‍रा हैं। हालांकि पुतिन इसे सिरे से खारिज करते हैं वे कह‍ते हैं कि देश की बागडोर मेदवेदेव के हाथ में हैं। यदि कोई गलतफहमी का शिकार है तो उसे नींद से जाग जाना चाहिए। इस बात से कोई इत्‍तेफाक नहीं की शीत युद्ध की समा‍प्ति के बाद अंतरराष्‍ट्रीय स्‍तर पर पुतिन ने रुस को खडा करने में कामयाबी हासिल की और आर्थिक हालत सुधारने के लिए पुराने सभी नियमों को बदल का रख दिया।

बलातकार के आरोप में पत्रकार गिरफ्तार

कोलकाता। एक महिला से बलातकार के आरोप में एक पत्रकार को एक अन्य व्यक्ति के साथ गिरफ्तार किया गया।
पुलिस ने बताया कि साउथ चाइना मार्निंग पोस्ट के लिए काम करने वाले पत्रकार एसएनएम आब्दी को उसके मित्र सैफुल इस्लाम के साथ गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया। उसे बीती रात अपने न्यू अलीपुर स्थित आवास में एक महिला से बलातकार के आरोप में गिरफ्तार किया गया।
पुलिस ने बताया कि 29 वर्षीय महिला ने अपनी शिकायत में आरोप लगाया कि आब्दी ने नौकरी के लिए साक्षातकार के सिलसिले में उसे उसके घर पर आने को कहा, लेकिन जब वह उसके घर गई तो उसने सैफुल के साथ मिलकर उसके साथ बलातकार किया।
उन्होंने बताया कि आब्दी को महिला द्वारा दर्ज प्राथमिकी के आधार पर उसके आवास से गिरफ्तार किया गया था।

Russia denies Arctic Sea carried missiles to Iran

Moscow, Sept 8, Russia today vehemently denied that
a cargo ship whose supposed seizure by pirates sparked an
international mystery was carrying sophisticated Russian
anti-aircraft missiles bound for Iran.
A British newspaper reported at the weekend that the
Arctic Sea had been carrying a batch of S-300 missiles, as
conspiracy theories swirl over the ship's mysterious
disappearance and reappearance.
"Regarding the S-300s on board the Arctic Sea, this is
absolutely untrue," Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov
told reporters, when asked if the ship was secretly carrying
the advanced Russian-made missiles to Iran.
The Arctic Sea, a Maltese-flagged vessel with a Russian
crew, was hijacked near Sweden in late July before it was
recovered by the Russian navy in the Atlantic Ocean several
weeks later.
The seizure of the ship in one of Europe's busiest
shipping lanes, the huge international effort to recover it
and the detention of its crewmen after they returned to Russia
have prompted speculation that it held a secret cargo.
Officially the ship was carrying a load of timber worth
USD 1.7 million dollars from Finland to Algeria, but
speculation has raged that it was carrying weapons or even
nuclear materials.
